Tai Duncan, MS, LMHC, NCC

I earned my B.A. from Hanover College and my M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) for the state of Indiana and am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). I have worked with a variety of client populations, including teens, couples, families, and and I specialize in anxiety disorders.

My personal and professional philosophy about people is that we are stronger than we allow ourselves to believe. Individuals who are having mental or emotional struggles often need to have a trusted person to serve as an outlet. Additionally, individuals may need someone to help them learn more effective coping skills in order to achieve their life goals. My objective as a mental health professional is to provide clients with a safe, confidential, and friendly environment in which to sort through their stressors and gain insight into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I aim to be an ally in helping clients to work towards identifying and achieving goals towards better mental, emotional, and physical health. Key components of my therapeutic work include client empowerment, insight development, mind/body work, identification of feelings, decision-making and coping skills, and providing support.

My passion for helping others has led me to seek out a variety of work and educational experiences in the past 20 years as a teacher, coach, and counselor in a broad range of settings with a diverse group of people - that same passion has now brought me to private practice.  I believe our human connection and sense of  belonging to the community in and around us is a source of healing no matter what life stage, or struggle, or addiction, or personal pain you might be experiencing.  As we move toward a more technological future, a therapeutic relationship can provide a kind, open, confidential, and supportive environment to sort through life’s most difficult challenges.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Goshen College and my M.S. in Counseling and Human Services from Indiana University South Bend.  I am currently seeking additional certifications in nutrition and wellness counseling to strengthen my skills and provide avenues for clients to find effective ways to feel better, achieve confidence, and discover healthy solutions within the context of their lives.

My personal philosophy is that every problem has a solution and we look for those solutions in the many facets of our mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being.  Identifying strengths, increasing coping skills, celebrating steps toward positive change, balancing decisions, caring for self, recognizing pain and engaging in healthy relationships are the foundations which guide my daily practice. I believe asking for help is noble and being open to the possibility of change is energizing for client and therapist.

Emily Matson, MS, LMHCA, NCC

I hold an associate license in mental health counseling for the state of Indiana (LMHCA) and am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I earned my B.A from the State University of New York at Albany in Psychology, specializing in child behavioral disorders. After working at an Autism Center for 5 years, I realized that I wanted to apply the behavioral science I was utilizing in that job to a wider demographic of people who were struggling with their mental health. I attended and graduated from Walden University with an M.S. degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have work primarily with adults, and have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Although I have experience in a variety of diagnostic categories, my current concentrations are in ADHD, Autism, OCD, Childhood Trauma, Sexual Trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues.

My personal philosophy is rooted in behavior change. I believe that every person has the power to change their life by identifying thoughts and behaviors that are holding them back from becoming their best selves. By identifying coping skills, alternative behaviors, and realistic goals, people can experience infinite growth. I believe it is my calling to come alongside those seeking this change, encouraging and empowering them to find their inner strength, as well as heal the parts of themselves that feel most broken. We will spend significant portions of our sessions focusing on self-acceptance, developing identity, and the identification of personal values. I aim to create an environment that is open, safe, accepting, and peaceful.

Laurie Sutter, MSEd (in progress)

My main mission is to help individuals and couples navigate their emotional landscapes and lead fulfilling lives. I feel truly honored to be on this journey with my clients as they explore their inner selves and find their path to happiness and well-being. I'm currently pursuing an M.S.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and hold a certification as a Kundalini Meditation Instructor, which has given me valuable knowledge and expertise to bring into my practice. I'm always learning and growing, and I believe there's always more to understand and discover in this field. With over 20 years of experience in sales and management, I've come to deeply understand the significance of self-awareness and how it impacts mental health, relationships, and personal growth. My own experiences have humbled me and made me realize the importance of embracing our true selves to find fulfillment and balance.

Working with couples and relationships is something I'm truly passionate about. I am committed to providing a safe and inclusive space where all individuals can feel heard and supported, regardless of their relationship structure. My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic modalities with my own unique approach, all aimed at fostering communication, understanding, and intimacy within relationships. When I work with couples and individuals, I love using tools like the Enneagram along with evidence-based methods to facilitate self-discovery and empower my clients on their healing journey. My ultimate goal is to guide my clients toward healthier relationships and more fulfilling lives, and I'm constantly reminded of the privilege it is to be a part of their growth and transformation.

Life comes with many challenges. Your struggles may be big, or they may be small, but they are struggles nonetheless. In observing life’s challenges, I have seen the benefit and necessity for people to have encouragement, support, and guidance. How many people have felt "stuck" in an area of their lives, and aren’t sure where to go next? At some point, we have surely all felt that way. Life Coaches, like myself, are the people that can help you through.

My personal and professional philosophy is that mental health is just as important as physical health, and should be treated as such. From childhood to adulthood I have always found myself in a "coaching" or "guiding" position. My goal is to help individuals find and achieve their life goals, whether personal or professional.

I studied psychology at Northcentral University, and have continued my education through self-teaching and self-exploration . I earned my Certified Life Coach (CLC) credential from International Association of Certified Coaches (IACC).
